It's more relevant than ever. Not my favourite mugshot of myself but not my favourite topic, either, this Akta Hasutan aka Sedition Act. This is one of the laws we journalists (and bloggers) love to hate. But like it or not, it is also necessary. More needed now than ever, if you ask me (and the Sinar Harian reporter asked me). I had earlier told Umno's future leaders during a panel discussion at their pre-PAU annual gathering at PWTC on Saturday that the authorities had used the Sedition Act against bloggers only a couple of times since I started blogging 8 years ago. In those instances, they used them judiciously, I must say (unlike the time that the silly Home Minister used the ISA to detain a journalist).
Yes, I think the Sedition Act is more relevant today than it has ever been. I don't know about you, but I cherish the peace and harmony that we have more than your right (or mine) to incite others to burn the Bibles and run down Islam ...
You may disagree, it's not seditious y'know.
But if it is only used against opposition and not those extremist in UMNO or UMNO proxies, that's called abuse of law and discrimination against opposition.
ReplyDeleteAll that's needed is proof. If the authorities don't act just bring to rocky bru
DeleteYes. Agreed!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with if only the sedition law is fairly applied and not selectively as it is happening now. Why is people like Abrahim Ali was and still is able to utter anything he wants and still gets away from whatever he says.
ReplyDeleteThis is what the problem is, just look at the number of people being investigated or detained for this.
Surely you are not so blind to notice that only the opposition members are being investigated and detained. Yet Najib has the audacity to ask where has Umno gone wrong. If he and I am sure he will continue to implement policies just so he will get the support of the people to have him remained as Umno president, thus as PM of Malaysia. The end of him and Umno in particular, is just around the corner.
No doubt he has more than he needs for the ten generations and this will be his last worry if he does not get to stay as the PM. But nevertheless no one in this world would ever be satisfied with whatever he has accumulated. Just like Gaddafi he and his family had billions but he kept on to whatever he had. The billions didn't help him to stay alive for another day, not even the offer of one million or more was able to help him achieve that !
You hypocrite. You disgusting man. How do justify what you just posted with the utter scum you link to? Helen Ang has been instigating hate all these while. What have you done? Fuck off rocky . Just fuck off.
ReplyDeleteYou la fuck off you are the one who came into this blog.
DeleteIf taken to court, Ibrahim Ali will be acquited. There was no intention to incite.
ReplyDeleteThere is audio, video, reports to show it was merely a M'kini spin for DAP to play on. Don't waste AG's time.
If Ibrahim Ali is to be charge, why no one raise issue on the many regulor seditous infringement by opposition leaders which clearly is meant to incite anger and hatred agst other ruler, religion and race.
Certain segment of public are equally selective as per their accusation of AG as being selective
Dato Rocks...
ReplyDeleteWhy do you need sedition Act when you have vernacular school on the first place?
Dont you realize vernacular school is a breeding ground of subversive propaganda, hate and lie?
Dont you people realize top of the the catchphrase (remember..guaneng pop up often say it...in mandarin of course infront of his ownkind crowd)
`do you want to be a 2nd class citizen?'
propaganda no? hate no? lie manipulator no?
`
We still need this acts as generally we Malayasians in respective of any races especially politicians are opportunist lots, racists, hipocrites and inconsiderate in order to achieve their political aims and gains.
ReplyDeleteIf you are not being seditious, why must you be afraid of the Sedition Act?
ReplyDeleteNow you know why the half breeds in Umno are only trying to be seen protecting the Malays every time when the general assembly comes.
ReplyDeleteBecause these half breeds are NOT Malays and are only instigating that the Malays' rights to be protected or enhanced. They forget to tell the people what these people are advocating are really for themselves.
Once again without all these special Malay privileges they would not have regarded or called themselves as Malays. Therefore don't you think it is time to come up with rules and conditions for the rights to be deemed as Malays ?
I am not trying to deny anyone from participating in politics as this is, at least supposed to be a free country. Only to stop half breeds claiming to be Malays just for the special Malay privileges. Without these special these scums would not have been members of Umno for sure. Simply because they are NOT Malays but half breeds, like a Eurasian ( so many of them do not even have the look of Malay, including a lot of the leaders) or Mamaks like the repugnant and avaricious Mahathir. One of the proofs is his 22 years as PM he was able to do so many things yet why wasn't he able to achieve the 30% set for the Malays ? He is now appearing to be protecting and fighting for the Malays at his twilight years Just to ensure that he will continue to get their support and secondly is to protect all the wealths he has illegally achieved for himself and his children in the name of being Malays, period.
Only idiots and retards still believe that he and his family are Malays, he is just a Mamak and even that his grand children cannot deem themselves to be because their mother is a Chinese and as such they have more Chinese blood in them than the Indian or the Malay blood combined. Sad to say there is nothing he can do even though he thinks he is very prepotent and has said that nothing is impossible in this world !
Do you call yourself charleskiwi because you are a mutant?
DeleteHalf breeds,like zairil who?

ReplyDeleteYou've been smoking too much BN-funded weed, latuk.
That sentence makes no sense whatsoever...
Use your utterly mediocre journalistic "skills" on it through the clouds of ganja smoke, and you'll see why.
Y'know.
