Or that's what some experts are telling the UMNO big wigs. If the party wants to set up a department ala the DAP's mysterious Red Bean Army, they asy, it needs to cough up RM350 million over the next 5 years. Ringgit tiga ratus lima puloh juta sahaja.
The proposal is in, I was told. Party sec-gen Tengku Adnan is thoroughly studying it.
Shocking, you say? Hogwash, certainly.
What UMNO needs to do is get its leaders, including those experts, to serve the people from now until Najib Razak or whoever is PM then calls for the next general election. Turun padang and meet the people face-to-face in the real world, not in the virtual one. There is no substitute for sincere hard work. Whose idea was it in the first place to have a department of social media that employs full-time tweeps, facebookers, instagrammers, bloggers and cybertroopers? What madness!
Three-hundred fifty bloody million ringgit to win the war of perception? Come off it!

Bro,
ReplyDeleteRM100Mill for JJ
RM50 Mill for Oma* On*
RM50 Mill for Ku Nan
RM30 Mill for Auww Pondan
RM20 Mill for Budak Hitam
RM15 Mill for Riong Kali grp
RM5 Mill for Tun F@is@l
Thats RM270 Mill. Balance RM80 Mill unaccounted for Bro.
Billions have been spent for PRU13 that gave dismal outcome. And in the process many people got rich quick. Those advisers or jokers are up to it to spread the money again. If they insist to use that RM350 million might as well put Najib, the pretender to the axe. It would cost nothing.
ReplyDeleteMerepek apa nie UMNO? Semua nak pakai duit ker? Buka gitu. Cukup-cukup lah UMNO oooiiii. PM Najib/TPM Mahyuddin, ajar lah orang-orang UMNO berkorban. Enough of songlap...
ReplyDeleteBuat ape belanja besar2 semata-mata nak serang RB. Kan ke lebih baik tangkap dan sumbat je dalam pejara atau .........
ReplyDeleteObviously someone or some people is going to be very very rich milking UMNO bro...!
ReplyDeleteBoleh apply kerja ke?
ReplyDeleteDuduk bilik air-con buat kerja blogging je. Bukan susah sangat.
wakakakakakakakaka
Oh shit...
ReplyDeleteWhenever UMNO needs some fund(money),this is how they will think of some scheme to siphon from the govt coffer.
ReplyDeleteSo, Rocky and geng boleh dapat berapa ?? rezeki dah sampai dah !!
ReplyDeleteni mesti ada geng UMNO nak sapu RM350 million sebelum tumpas PRU14.
And where pray tell do these jokers think umno shall get that kind of dough? Toll on govt/public projects issit? Bisness as usual? Will they ever learn?
ReplyDeleteApa barang RM350 million, make it RM350 billion lah.
ReplyDeleteu all know what this means? Caesar has to go. He does not hv a freaking clue abt what is going on.
ReplyDeletebro rocky, I feel yr pain. We all love Caesar. But we all love Rome more. The only respect we can show is to use a clean but very sharp edge.
Just go re-read the interview what daim said soon after the pru13 and then start working. Pure n simple. Ada faham ?
ReplyDeleteI agree totally with you Rocky. People to people contact is more important.
ReplyDeleteDon't have to ape the DAP or Saddle King Man's cybertoopers since they are foreign funded.
The bilions spent can be used to help the Orang ASLI, poor Malays and the natives of Sabah and Sarawak.
BN only need to unite the people to win the war of perceptions which is now being manipulated by the opposition.
Dear sir,
ReplyDeleteI would like to apply.
Then I can go to Naza and buy a Harley Davidson Fatboy Lo.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely.
Kahkahkah! Apasal kena guna duit? Apakata kita biarkan aje, krana sampai mati pun cina xkan dapat majoriti, apa nak takot, so let it be.. ada paham? ReplyDeleteIts waste of money..follow step like Great China Firewall filtering all social media including Facebook, twitter or so on.It is something useful tools. We know such as facebook or tweeter can create fake account compare whatsapp using authentic id where it's more secure. So if UMNO wanna spend RM350mil just for battle in social media,i think is useless...this is sample filtering in great firewall http://www.greatfirewallofchina.org/ and u just put address such as www.facebook.com,www.twitter.com and c.whatsapp.net
ReplyDelete350 million only what....so little....small change....why complain ? It isn't in the billions lah....
ReplyDeleteOn this social media stuff? I can do it for less than RM5 million for the next five years and I will have everything covered!mideTer raise
ReplyDeleteRed Bean Army is a spin first created by Shen Yee Aun.
ReplyDeleteHe managed to worm his way into Chua Soi Lek's media team and funding by highlighting his inflated ex-DAP credentials. His primary brief was on Selangor.
After advising Chua to MCA's worse defeat in GE13 since its existence, now heard Shen is trying to worm his way up to UMNO & PBB's leadership.
Be careful of this guy's shady character and background. Do check him out thoroughly...

ReplyDeleteBerbelanja ratusan juta ringgit demi Janji Capati, 1Malaysia, lagu Sayangi Selangor di Komuter, poster, iklan, bendera BN setiap 3 inci di tebing jalanraya, mengespam iFon Samseng Galaksee orang dengan SMS Yakini BeeEnd, membayar puluhan pemblogger Unit Media Baru untuk mencarut sambil copypaste, dan pelbagai lagi.... gagal membuahkan hasil dan Value For Money. 51% rakyat tidak bershoookooor terhadap Cap Dacing. 2/3 gagal diperolehi, malah lebih kerusi hilang lagi.
Tidak apa. Siramlah lebih banyak wang ringgits! If you throw money at the problem, it goes away.
Kalau gagal lagi, kita blame orang Cina ajelah.

I think the consultants realize Najib is an inclusive fellow to the core.
He wants everybody and his grandfather, grandmother, uncles and aunties to vote for him/BN/UMNO.
This serves the consultants narrow commercial interests perfectly too. Else they would have nothing much to do.
Everybody and his uncle knows this. As the popular NOTION goes, forget about the Chinese, SIS, the so-called liberal Melayus, Bar Council inspired urban Indians, etc.
They ain't going to vote BN, because they rejected UMNO.
Forget about winning them over. BUT don't forget the rural Malays/Bumis whose VOTE retained UMNO/BN in Putrajaya.
Use the RM350.00 million to build another school. Find another RM2.00 billion and build more schools so all our children can remain in schools until 5 pm.

Nak tolong bumiputera , orang asli dll...masa 56 tahun tak cukup ke? Sampai bila....korek tak berhabisan. Juta tak cukup, berpuluh juta tak cukup, beratusan juta tak cukup, beribuan juta tak cukup....sampai bila???
Come on Malaysians, have some brains - not shit in your head. Is there really a red bean army?? it is just a creation by some idiot who tries to be a local Hans Christian Andersen. What next then, a goreng pisang army by umno, a ketupat army set up by PKR? A wau bulan army by PAS?
ReplyDeleteIni lah buat orang sangat MARAH dengan UMNO...these are the kind of UMNO MEMBERS that people have now grown to LOVE TO HATE.

Dear Rocky
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wonder (lets make it all the time please) whether our BN politicians are really Leader's Material?
Yes, I do agree, being media savvy would help tremendously in communicating with the people.
But, common sense will the us, being on the ground and delivering all the tasks are far more effective than any media blitz.
For me, UMNO and BN's biggest mistake is not having a Proper Agenda and Program.
BN and UMNO conveniently EQUATES GOVT EFFORTS AS THEIRS!!!!
That, for me, is BN/UMNO biggest Politic 101 mistake of them all.
Due to that, we witnessed a nationwide of NO PURPOSE DIVISIONS & BRANCHES.
Making things worst, these divisions and branches are pack with Business-and-Power-Minded leaders THUS MAKING THE SOCIAL AGENDA ABSENT from their soul.
And very unfortunate that it is from these branches and divisions that UMNO UNEARTH THEIR NATIONAL LEADERS
Is there something for AKmal? He too got needs

Dear Anon,
I share your frustration. UMNO must get rid of people with this kind of mentality, even if there are too many of them already. This is the kind of people who give the party and the Malays a bad name.
I agree with another Anon who feels UMNO does need a department of social media but not at such a cost. I can understand the need and the desire to control the blogosphere and social media sphere. Same feel those media barons get - power. influence, the ability to set whatever agenda.
But to start employing 3,000 or 4,000 people to tweet, fb, etc for the party, for the PM, and to win this war of perception is worse than ridiculous. I won't agree with you totally about Red Bean Army being a figment of these people's imagination, but you are close. The Opposition parties in Malaysia have always had the support of the Internet. They were ahead on the blogs and the Internet, which were blamed for the 2008 tsunami. Umno and BN started doing the catching up after PRU12!
In my view, the BN social media army, blogs, portals, etc aren't doing badly at all. And the ordinary people who do their bit on FB and twitter to defend common sense and fight extremism, ie pro-moderation Najib Razak style, you can't buy these people or bribe them to write what they have been dishing out. Not in a thousand years. Not for a billion bucks.

Too much emphasis on social media. like u said, go to the ground. concerntrate on your customers. satisfied customers will improve your standing and spread the word free of charge. problem in last election umno already perceived as corrupted so when dsn throw all the paties, dinners & money around urban folk get put off.
ReplyDeleteSaudara Rocky,
ReplyDeleteThere is no need for UMNO to waste too much money to counter The red bean army. What we just saw in PRU 13 is likely the worst case scenario which can only get better in future.
For this reason, UMNO should not desert its long time ally MCA and MIC permanently just because of one election. What we see today has happened because the Chinese are united under DAP in PRU 13 as they were convinced that they could lead the next government under Pakatan Rakyat. Now that they have seen this is not possible, there is good likelihood that some may come back to BN in the next GE. We must understand the Chinese Kiasu spirit is to win and not to lose as a mere opposition.
As a matter of fact Chinese support for BN in Sarawak increased slightly from 24.4% in 2011 to 29.5% in PRU 2013. I have seen Chinese sentiment in Sarawak precedes their compatriot in Semenanjung.
You and readers are welcome to visit my latest article on this matter at http://dahalmi.wordpress.com/2013/06/25/post-malaysian-general-election-pru-13-scenarios-part-1-an-intellectual-discussion/
everybody wants to make money even if they know it sinks and destroy the party then UMNO is doomed. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteBanyak sangat 350 mill tu.
ReplyDeleteLempar saja duit tu kat remaja kita disemua ceghok kampung sponsor kelab2 bola sepak, bola jaring (makcik2 pun join dan turut seronok).
ReplyDeleteAdun2 dan MP2 mai le bawa anak bini serta cucu2 kamu join in, jgn duk bagi excuse busy2, kalau busy kenapa baru2 ni tak capai 2/3 majoriti?
Kampung kami dah 50thn adakan ini semua, ke anak cucu semua tetap setia with BN. Dulu2 Minister2 kita rajin turun kampung, ikut memancing dan macam2 lagi, sekarang ape dah jadi?
