CLOSER TO RM1 BEE. I have been told that Syed Mokthtar Al Bukhary has submitted this week a revised bid to acquire a 32.3 per cent stake in POS Malaysia Berhad. The stake belongs to Khazanah Nasional Bhd and the Government has a gold share in the company. Last year, the tycoon was on the verge on winning the a bid to control POS Malaysia, with a RM700 million offer but was asked at the last minute to resubmit a fresh offer as Khazanah deemed the bid to be too low. The dudes at Khazanah felt that once the Postal Land Act is revised, there will be a relaxation in the use of Pos Malaysia land so they thought that called for a premium.
SMAB's new offer is in range of RM1 billion, and he will not seek to strip the Government of its golden share.
i was told the people in POS is trying to turn company into a bank. starting July, POS will start taking deposits. hello u take deposit, how u gona pay interest if u dont lend money. so in end u jai BANK lah
ReplyDeletei wont be surprised if syed mokthar gets it, coz basically the KN block is a Bumi block. they cant sell it to Cimb, coz KN is a controlling shareholder there. Azman Hashim of Ambank, wants to cash out, and Kalimoola who raped Pos in the Avenue deal, is not welcome. Sorry ECM even Omar Ong cant help you. And Tony , Omar cant help u eother.
ReplyDeletei dengar ade Pak Arab jv dgn org kito
ReplyDeletebagoslah kalu gobermen ada saham mas kat POS.
ReplyDeletesyed moktar if u get pos. pls sack the ceo. he is a prick
ReplyDeleteThe dudes in Khazanah are mostly text-book morons, ex-consultants with no real business experiences, esp the MD, Azman M (M for mangkuk).

ReplyDeleteSeem like Pos is doing better. i went to post office recently during lunch to settle bills and i was done within 2 mins and the crowd was sizeable. Delivery of my letters are also ok. They are more visible these days. Seem like they are trying hard. Good timing for SM to come in to rejuvenate it further.

Bru bro, I still think TSM wants to pump Bank Muamalat into Pos branches. If so, maybe he can create an animal with higher value than RM1b.
ReplyDeleteBut it is true that Pos has shown improvement; from its service level to their bottomline. Definitely theey are starting to do more. So if TSM wins, it will be even better for Pos.
Di bumi bertuah ini, tak ada kah individu Melayu selain dari Syed Mokhtar yang boleh membina kekayaan dengan berinteraksi dengan Gomen.
ReplyDeleteAiyoyo....Syed Mokhtar lagi?

Inilah orang2 yg tak peform; bukan ceo punya salah da.
Eddy, I assume you are a Malay. Why dont you or you friends bid for it. Match the offer lah Bruder. By the way, Khazanah is doin this in an arms length way. Anyone who has the money can place a bid. Only restriction is the bidders company must be 51 per cent malaysian. Cm'on Eddy, you can do it BRO. Btw the BID closed on March 15. Sorry iye.

What a country and government we have...government agencies were privatised and now are to be sold to individual billionaires. Maybe one day the government of the day would start selling off districts and states to some individuals like what we used to do in playing MONOPOLY.
ReplyDeleteyo rocky',
ReplyDeleteyou punya tip ka tip-u?
kalau 1 billion, harga sepatutnya sudah sampai rm5.76, sekarang masih rm3.15. orang tak percaya lu punya cakap!
Everyone can bid for Pos Malaysia. Stop bitching and start bidding. Salah ke kalau Syed Mokthar bid. Ape die bukan rakyat Malaysia kah????
ReplyDeleteDj Bujai
THE POS Management believes Khazanah’s divestment of its 32% stake in POS will likely happen during the Invest Malaysia conference on 12 April - Hong Leong Research.
ReplyDeleteTunggu ape lagi!!! Beli lah Saham POS Malaysia utk kesejahteraan masa depan anak/ cucu/ cicit anda!!!

Agree with you Eddy. Tak ada orang lain kah? Tak ada perubahan Kah. Dulu semua Daim. Sekarang semua Syed M. Lessons not learnt.
ReplyDeleteYang kaya bertambah kaya. I guess after this, stamps & other services provided by POS Malaysia will be higher.

The last time this things happened, that is when the menantu bought Pos Malaysia, the drivers and riders were suddenly received rebet. Before they were shelved when paklahabau was out of power.

ReplyDeleteSCOMI losing money. For financial year ended December 31 2010, Scomi Group Bhd posted a pre tax loss of RM180 million, while its accounts receiveables stood at RM800 million, which means, if they cannot collect from suppliers, they will go bankrupct.
ReplyDeleteShan MUgam
Kalimullah, K J and SCOMI are into this together. Sumore, Scomi is losing a lot of money. They might end up RAPING pos malaysia.
ReplyDeleteAnon 10.31pm, aiyo suda kena main depan bilakang kah!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHwang DBS, bank Singapura kata BELI DRB HCIOM. Akan naik sampai RM3.80.
ReplyDeletePOS Malaysia should be given to the Cooperatives of Postal Workers.
ReplyDeleteThere is no justification to give the wealth of the nation to one Yemeni man Syed Mokhtar.
Let the workers share in the company growth.
There are many postal workers working for 600 ringgit a month before the raise.
Says no to privatisation that is more to capitalist piracy.
Postal workers now are more efficient and working hard. For SM to just come in and milk them is too much.
Why make an individual like SM into billionaires. It is the morons at Khazanah and EPU who are responsible for the inbalance in wealth.
While we struggle to pay for the stamps SM and the likes makes billions!
Anon 10:50 PM
ReplyDeleteWhy your comment when capital and talent are globalised and go where they are most welcomed?
Is Pos Malaysia supposed to be profit-making (or why list it on Bursa Malaysia) or is it more akin to Malaysia Airlines (MAS) which was constantly whingeing about having to fly loss-making domestic routes in the name of "national service"?
The government might as well privatise Pos Malaysia and revert it to a government department or statutory board with 100% control. They can then subsidise it to their hearts' content with taxpayer funds.
Or the prospect of continued 5 per cent+ budget deficits and the consequent pressure on the ratings and yields of Malaysian government bonds and sukuk are deterring the government from contemplating such a move.
Enter Syed Mokh.......
TERKINI - MP Corp Bhd yg rugi RM9 juta tahun lalu is the parter of Amanah Reit for POS Malaysia. Best part is MP Corp x ade duit tapi Amokh kate tak ape : Jom kita park POS kat sana dulu, lepas itu bole lah kita meliwatnya!!!!
