Only RM400 mil left in USP Fund!?

UPDATED Sun 10pm
YB Wee: "I'm shocked ... one of them is lying .. ".
The MP for Wangsa Maju has laid out the red carpet for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commisison (MACC) to investigate this CASH COW.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE:
FROM RM4 BIL TO RM400 MIL. Well-spotted by the NST's managing editor: the deputy minister in charge of the fund said on Oct 25 (see here) that the money had NOT been spent and that he DID NOT have full details of the fund. Last week, the NST reported that only 10 per cent of the RM4 billion collected under the fund since 2006 is still there [see article here, last para]. Does the deputy minister and the MCMC communicate at all? Or does the MCMC serve the Minister only? The managing editor has her own question on her blog 3540 Jalan Sudin: Was it money well spent?

To answer the question, the MCMC must explain where ALL the money had gone to. Since YB Wee Choo Keong was the one who had first asked the question (on his blog here and in the Dewan Rakyat here), and since the deputy minister was clearly in the dark, why not let the Minister himself explain to the Rakyat in Parliament?

USP Fund, Felda, Sime Darby, TNB, SEDC - they all sound so familiar in what you are trying to say.

Of course, the faults lies with UMNO.

I think the question whether MCMC is serving the minister is an understatement!

MCMC is actually serving the minister, his lovely wife, crooked son, corrupted son and daughter in law, family business cronies etc etc too!

  7. Hey, wishing to be fired as an UMNO blog are you? Why ask such inconvenient questions of an UMNO leader who can do no wrong? Now, at least on what they have admitted spending the money on, i.e. the notebooks, may I just ask one question? Maybe its been answered, I may have missed it.

Now, I thought the UPS fund was for infrastructure expenditure. Last I saw, notebooks for individuals does not come under that definition. But then of course I will remain pacified, like UMNO always expects me to, if they were to say, in the spirit of Malaysia boleh, UMNO has redefined infrastructure and expanded its meaning.

  9. So many questions and doubts over RM4 billion...yet it never got Najib's attention to order MCMC to reveal with facts and not just their words.
It is People's money and all have the right to know the details.
Of course Najib prefers to talk about Malaysians love keeping quiet and live a quiet life as reported what he said today at Star.
This unelected PM is a useless low class wheeler dealer....talking cock all the time.
All the revealations...demands..questions have put him between the devil and the deep blue sea.
Defend PutraJaya with his life from traitors...he said.
That offended all Malaysians supporting PR.
Is this how he interpret he is People's PM when he dare not go to the People to be elected with a snap election like Dollah?

    rocky,

though not relevant but I find this report from the pro pakatan Malaysian insider strange. Just look at the figures.

it’s a very strange figure for direct membership election of 100 of thousands of pkr members. Probably till far it’s small cabangs only and hundreds of thousand members more to come.

But then again it reported the latest breakdown as follows:

“Ipoh Timor: Timbalan Presiden (Azmin, 50; Zaid, 14; Mustaffa, 2)

Kuala Kangsar: Timbalan Presiden (Mustaffa, 48, Azmin, 13; Zaid, 12)

Kampar: Timbalan Presiden (Mustaffa, 22, Azmin, 21; Zaid, 16)

Beruas: Timbalan Presiden (Azmin, 173, Zaid, 14; Mustaffa, 4)

Bagan: Timbalan Presiden (Azmin, 9; Zaid, 6; Mustaffa, 4)

Batu Kawan: Timbalan Presiden (Zaid, 94; Azmin, 59; Mustaffa, 9)

Temerloh: Timbalan Presiden (Zaid, 25; Azmin, 24; Mustaffa, 0)

Rompin: Timbalan Presiden (Zaid, 55; Azmin, 19; Mustaffa, 2)

Tampin: Timbalan Presiden (Zaid, 115; Azmin, 6: Mustaffa, 2)

Ipoh Barat: Timbalan Presiden (Mustaffa, 40, Zaid, 14; Azmin, 9)

Permatang Pauh: Timbalan Presiden (Azmin, 211; Zaid, 58; Mustaffa, 11)

    Tambun: Timbalan Presiden (Mustaffa, 11; Azmin, 33; Zaid, 10);
Naib Presiden (Nurul Izzah, 120; Tian Chua, 118; Gobalakrishnan, 116; Yahya, 96)

Maran: Timbalan Presiden (Zaid, 24; Azmin, 4; Mustaffa, 1)

    Rembau: Timbalan Presiden (Zaid, 49; Azmin, 7; Mustaffa, 4);
Naib Presiden (Nurul Izzah, 44; Fuziah, 39; Jonson, 30; Tian Chua, 14); Ketua AMK (Badrul Hisham, 39; Shamsul, 0)

Kepala Batas: Timbalan Presiden (Zaid, 56; Azmin, 38)

Alor Gajah: Timbalan Presiden (Zaid 104; Azmin, 93; Mustaffa, 33)”

is the figure saying like for Temerloh there are less than 50 members for the whole parliamentary area? Or maran, less than 30 members interested to vote?

There is something fundamentally wrong with this figure considering its an important direct election. it’s not even as huge as one can imagine to have an administrative problem. Can anyone clarify? Maybe I’ve overlook somewhere in the voting procedure? Does one vote constitute 100 or 1000 votes?

    Dear Bro,

I think you have done Najib's administration a good deed by having raised so many issues, either directly or through the opposition MPs alleged accusations.

On the brighter side of the administration, the MACC will be loaded with juicy stories raised by the bloggers and the alternative media. The corruption cases raised in all the courts of law, should also be given top priority to commence prosecution, without FEAR or FAVOUR.

I believe the Federal and High Courts had been over worked in order to deal with all the pending high priority cases, including the on going case of Anwar Ibrahim saga in court which had been postponed so frequently. It's wasting of legal man hour, financial and human resources in
postponing such a high profiled cases of alleged criminal acts under the provision of ISA or OSA and Penal Code.

I opined that high profiled alleged cases of corruptions should take priority over other cases of lesser national interest. They should be disposed off within a specific legal time frame in order to reflect genuine national integrity and transparency in current Najib's administration.

  24. Chairman of MCMC Khalid Ramli duly and correctly gave a factual accounting of how money was spent.

But gaffes of this magnitude and like saying money not spent when it was actually spent and questions of judgement as to whether money well spent should be answered by the Minister in charge, Rais Yatim.

  26. Gaffes of this magnitude and nature and issue of how well funds spent are issues of judgement should be explained by the Minister in charge, Rais Yatim. For someone so involved in his Ministry's operations, I don't think Rais had no idea what his deputy Joseph Salang Gandum was talking about when he said funds not spent.

Khalid Ramli has properly given a factual accounting of how funds spent.

Oh, you should have been at the Press conference, you shud have seen how they were all jumping to answer all the questions directed to Rais, and Rais just let them. The Press members were taken aback by how emotional and defensive MCMC boss was. Even some officials present were talking about how the top 3 guys behaved in that day. MCMC boss was banging his hands on the table and huffing and puffing away with his figures and justifications, with total disregard for the DPM who was present. Shud have seen the look on dpm's face la. since that kind of money has been spent and we are still getting this kinda service, guess, what they are saying that day, it'll be years before we crawl pass the ranking where we are behind many African nations.

Raising this issue is one thing. Following up and keeping the issue alive in the mind of the rakyat is another issue. Berani ke ? If you can keep this issue alive in your blog (like Nadeswaran is asking in his blog about the criminal acts exposed by the Auditor General) then I say you haven't fully turned to the dark side of the force.

Dear Bro and our fellow bloggers,

We bloggers should create healthy debates of our national issues on the alternative media. Just follow the aspirations of our leaders, not all though as there is a longer list being scrutinised by PMO Committee on the new Cabinet lineup, expected pretty soon.

Watch out for PM's signal, as he doesn't used "Ilham" like the previous PMs.PM IS ON THE WAY TO RECOVERY BUT HE SEEMS TO WORKOUT IN THE CONFINE OF HIS ROOM.

Let me digress a bit this sober morning as we should also share the sorrows of our fellow beings in Indonesia, cos i think they make God angry lah. Poor SBY may be in a hot soup and hot potato!

Anyway, if God gets angry, non of his slaves can talk or fight HIM back. In Malaysia, even if we menderhaka against Tuanku, we will thrown out from the district or state. But with the latest development caused by some stupid politicians, Tuanku2 may reiterate as these group wants to change the Federal Constitution which also impact the State laws and legislation. i.e they want to push for a Presidential State and pencen off the Sultans.

Mana boleh, itu Sultan2 semua bukan Melayu, Cina atau India punya, Tuanku itu 1Malaysia untuk seluruh rakyat Malaysia Tanah Air kito.

In concluding this morning's passing comments, I wish to congratulate Organising Chairman and Patron, both Dr. Michael Yeoh and Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew for the success of the 2nd WORLD CHINESE ECONOMIC FORUM OVER THE LAST TWO EXCITING DAYS.

HOWEVER, I HAD NOTED THAT THERE WERE TOO FEW MALAYS AND INDIANS AMONG THE DELEGATES. CHINESE WERE WELL REPRESENTED FROM ALL THE MAJOR INDUSTRIES LOCALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY. ALSO THE FORUM AND OTHER SIDELINE SESSIONS WERE EQUALLY STIMULATING, ESPECIALLY THE FINAL SESSION YESTERDAY AFTERNOON DESIGNED FOR THE CHALLENGE OF FUTURE YOUNG LEADERS.

I WAS INSPIRED BY TONY PUA, OH POLSEC PM, YB CHUA JUNIOR AS WELL AS THE OTHER PANEL MEMBERS FROM AUSI. THEY WERE ALL CHINESE AND I WISH WE HAD A MALAY AND AN INDIAN, THAT'S TRULY 1MALAYSIA AND 1ASIA. ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE PANEL WERE EXTREMELY ELOQUENT AND THEY HAD REFRAIN FROM SPEAKING OUT ON POLITICS.

GOOD SHOW WITH EXCELLENT NETWORKING AND CHINESE FOOD PROVIDED BY THE MAIN SPONSOR AND PATRON TAN SRI LEE KIM YEW. CONGRATS TO ALL ASLI TEAM PLAYERS FOR THE HARD WORK TO ENHANCE OUR SILK ROUTE TO CHINA-MALAYSIA NEW RELATIONSHIP.
