The moment we've all been waiting for. In October 2003, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi reported for duty to Malaysians as their fifth PM. It started very well and then things started to fall apart quickly. For the nation, that is.
Today, after more than a year of pressure, Abdullah must decide whether to listen to the wishes of the masses or the insistence of his handful of advisers., If he listens to Umno grassroots and Malaysians in general, he will make an announcement later today that he does not intend to defend his Umno presidency and will allow a power transition to take effect.
If he listens to son, son-in-law, Kalimullah Masheerul Hassan and a few other usual suspects, this man will insist that he is still needed by this nation and will therefore defend his presidency at all cost and continue to be Prime Minister of Malaysia.
And there's nothing WE can do about it.

Rocky,
ReplyDeleteThis is the moment you and Mahathir especially have been waiting the most for.
Can we do Thailand?
ReplyDeleteI say "Better Pak Lah than Najib & Rosmah anytime".
ReplyDelete(Lat, Parit Raja)
Just talked to a bankable junior lady colleague who recently sent a Raya card to RPK. She is adamant that Pak Lah will not let go his coveted post. When pressed, so who will challenge him? Her hesitant answer, er, not Najib.

Salam sejahtera,
ReplyDeleteSemoga selamat semuanya.

Yes you can but it's 4 years down the road. That's provided there's anything left of this country the way it's being run.
ReplyDeleteJohn
He finally awakes
ReplyDeleteInto his full eyes he sees
The events of his time
Passing by so quickly
The landslide victory in 2004
He forgot to make it works
When the slides begin its fall
He sleeps through it all
Now in 2008
He thought he could make his magic
Sadly his UMNO comrades thought otherwise
He has to be sacrifice for the good of UMNO
It isn’t for the good of the country and her people
UMNO doesn’t care about the people
UMNO wants its members to rule forever
Alienating its grass root members and the public
The 3Ps the menu in the mind every time
His advisors will tell him otherwise
Don’t go yet fight for another time
Let the members know what he wants to do
Like Sami Value work never finishes
Give me time to complete
So I take it
He will defend his presidency
Until the time comes then he will decide
For now he takes a leaf from LKY
‘In the loop don’t try to mess with me’
And the day of the ‘Titanic’
It is numbered on its forehead
Like the show ‘Frighteners’
The devil will come to collect it
The people will stand in vigils
Praying for the good to come over evil
Somewhere a new song
Silently singing in the solitude
Remember the king in the transparent clothes?
ReplyDelete"If he listens to ... other usual suspects, [Dolah] will insist that he is still needed ... and continue to be Prime Minister of Malaysia."
Signed,

Are you sure the rakyat can't do anything about it...?
ReplyDeleteAre we suppose to suffer under the goverment hands...?
What about our rights ? We have, you know..!
We also have an AGUNG...!
So..! What you are trying to say is that the rakyat has to take whatever shit that is thrown to us...?
Veryupset
that sounds like dictatorship to me. what happened to democracy and all its stories about how we choose our own leaders and governements? hmm...
ReplyDeleteits pathetic for a democracy country like us actually leave the decision of our top leader in the hands of few peoples.
ReplyDeleteMalaysia Image Board
Oh yes we can still do something about it...go to the ballot box again, albeit 5yrs later...and put BN out of business permanently so that they become the new opposition instead of the ruling party. Its the only way to show them that if there are no changes in UMNO, the rakyat will just give a bigger victory to Pakatan.
ReplyDeletefarha.
it depends on our perception of what "the right thing" is.
ReplyDeletefor Abdullah supporters, defending his title is the right thing.meanwhile for his haters and non-supporters,to quit is the right thing.
if i have to choose then i rather give Abdullah another chance to govern the country.no question about it.
I believe Bodowi will waffle "I still have many things to complete...this is a critical time not to have a transition, but I recognize the wishes of the members and people...insyaAllah..we see if the members want to nominate me to be their president...see...then I'll decide before the next AGM"! He will be subscribing to the old adage "a day in politics is a long time", what more till March 09!
ReplyDelete(Noyawns)
allow me to forecast a certain scenario...
ReplyDeletepak lah refuse to go down.. disillusionment among the masses
continous demo and condemnation
anwar lurking
umno losses support
BN disbanded
malays run to PAS
Malays politics become less moderate
foreig intervention
secession by eastern states join a federation with brunei
military intervention in the south with foreign assistance to secure investment by foreign states
Democracy in Malaysia means that the ruling party has the right to do all sorts of things in a high haanded manner to remain unchallenged in their power game.

Hi Bro Rocky,
ReplyDeleteWhat's not lost to almost everyone is the need for a closure on all these political shennanigans.
The world at large is in financial turmoil and yet here we (or they) are happily playing politics.
It has to stop somewhere so that the country can chart its course, wherever that may lead.
And No Thailand-Styled reaction, please.
No one benefits from something like this .
God bless.
Waiting for the day to end.
Kuda Kepang said "NEVER"
ReplyDeleteFinally Rocky will be appointed as a consultant to Najib's 4th Floor boys ... well done rocky .... you are on your way becoming another Kali ...
ReplyDeletesorry bro he will stay put. Simply put.. BN don trust Najis. Dat's why the call for the meeting..
ReplyDeleteWatever the outcome UMNO is doomed!

Of course, the Sleepy Head will hold on to the PM until the very last second because he must protect his SIL, son, KaliUlar and gang.
ReplyDeleteUntil and unless he is pushed out of office by "force" thi sman will never gave up the comfortable post of PM where he had used it tot he fullest to help his SIL, son, KaliUlar and gang.
Mark my words that the Sleepy Head will definitely announce today that the country needed him badly to do all the reforms.
The nation must tell him that please FO from the surface of the earth because he had damaged the nation by time by helping his SIL, SON, KaliUlar and gang.

Mat Sabu,
ReplyDeleteSorry to disappoint you but I won't be consultant to his 4th Floor. In fact, I have already started the ball rolling against any attempt to create an equivalent of a 4th Floor for whoever replaces Pak Lah (pls read my previous posting Najib's 4th Floor of Oct 3).
There is an effort to create some sort of a presidential committee or a committee of elders within Umno to advise the next President. This, I was told, is aimed at ensuring that the Umno president does not act as if the party and the country are his own and his family's properties.
Of course all these may be overtaken by events on Oct 13 if it turns out that Anwar has the numbers.
Thank you.
I strongly believe Pak Lah, will fight, not because he wanted to but others wanted him to.
ReplyDeleteThe world is facing turmoil, and we can still be so oblivious.
Hi Rocky,
ReplyDeleteIf not Kamal's coveted position, how about Group Editor NSTP?
Datuk Ahiruddin Atan....Hmmmm, doesn't sound bad, right? Only thing you won't only have to clip your wings but also your pony tail!
Cheers
lawan pak lah lawan, nasib kami belum tentu lagi kalau pak lah blah, kami penduduk2 kg pisang akan terus menyokong pak lah, sampai bila2. betul.
ReplyDeleteI am all for a Muhyiddin Yassin/Nur Jazlan ticket.
ReplyDeleteAlahai Bro, aku harap dia pertahan jawatan hak milik keluarga dia. Biar dia berentap dgn Najib. Dia dgn keluarga dia jer betul, org lain semua salah. Tgkt 4 kata Najib salah sbb dia pengarah PRU tp KJ nak bertanding Ketua Pemuda kata dia ada pengalaman jadi pengarah PRU. Nah ambik kau, nak cari salah org aje tp menantu kau pun buat haru jugak. Semua ahli pemimpin Umno dan keluarga Paklah tahu KJ susun calon pilihanraya sampai BN catat sejarah kalah teruk. Kenapa nak salahkan Najib. Skrg nak salahkan Najib la, Muhyiddin la, Mahathir la. Ikut suka hati kau la Bro. Aku harap Paklah pertahan jawatan dan Najib declare lawan jawatan Presiden. Jgn lak Najib kata tak nak dan setuju peralihan 2010 tu. Dulu semua org sayang Paklah sbb dia Mr Nice Guy dan Ulamak tp lepas tu jadi Gusdur, hancur negara dibuatnya. Org Melayu/Umno dah tak angkat pot org label Gusdur ni. SOKONG RENTAP BRO
ReplyDeleteRocky,
ReplyDeleteYou are quite naive in saying "steps are being taken to prevent 4th floor committees from being set up by having a committee of elders instead".
The committee of elders then become like a Communist party politburo! No difference. It will be these presidential committee/elders who will then rule the country, emasculating the prime minister.
Please understand political theory: if the prime minister is not strong, then the locus of power could go to such a committee of elders, which may be worse.
So don't be too happy just yet. We are in for more trouble.
Oh man, he can't even decide on the date to announce his decision! Tomorrow lah, no wait, better today lah, no wait, tomorrow best lah!
ReplyDeletesome might wave goodbye to incumbent Prime Minister and others still wanting to stay where he is.
ReplyDeleteto those others that wanting him to stay, seek for and give supports to Datuk Seri Abdullah to stay at his seat as our Prime Minister.he was selected by the people during the last general election and somehow he's still relevant to defend his seat.
meanwhile to his haters,well...any politician do have haters of their own.
UMNO want AAB to go , other component BN still want AAB to lead
ReplyDeletebut AAB is UMNO loyalist let respect his wish .
UMNO lineup for re branding;
president : Najib
deputy : Muhyiddin
vp: Ali rastam, Rafidah , Rais Yatim.
Bodowi,,,will still stays,,prefer to rot,,,rather than quit,,,Election baru 7 Months,,malulah kalu turun,,!!!
ReplyDeleteNasi sudah jadi Bubur,,,US financial crisis lagi terok,,,Malaysian market akan jatuh tersungkur,,Bodowi will wait and see,,,lagi pon DSAI belum tau bole gugat kepimpinan beliau,,,

Will Abdullah do the right thing today?
ReplyDeleteThat seems like the wrong thing to me.
Anwar and his numbers...aih
ReplyDeletePak Lah and his "yes/no"...aih
http://undergrounduate.blogspot.com
I think he will stay and fight.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you know? He's glued to his seat. Congrats on all your predictions that he's not going anywhere,...ever. Simply shows that we all know and even make accurate predictions of he's incompetent decision making and flip flopping words.
ReplyDeleteThe best announcement - The country still needs me. I will stay on. Then everyone will be jolly good happy and stage a nice walk in the park.
ReplyDeleteDear Rocky,
ReplyDeleteAccording to Datuk Richard Leete ( From Kampung to Twin Towers -Oxford 2007), Absolute powerty has been eradicated except among a small proportion of Bumiputera during the Premiership of AAB
So, please do not write off AAB totally, please compared apple with apple. When you compared what TDM has done in his first 5 years of his premiership- just splitting UMNO and sending people to Kamunting. AAB should not push out of office-ikut adatlah.
You think, Najib is much better than AAB? Talk about Mukriz, what about his contract with Telekom? He get it just before TDM step down. RM300million-optic fibre contract) Politicians are all the same...
Sorry bro Rock, no vacancy for you yet. Abullah is staying put and, rightly so. He owes it to the nation and the rakyat. He cannot just pack up, when the world is facing the worst fianancial crisis...Malaysia is not immune to this crisis. How selfish these BN politicians are, putting self before the nation.
ReplyDeletesuka_aman you got my vote
ReplyDeleteNO NAJIB
Rocky,
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately (not to you)...I share Mat Sabu's thought as well.
Based on your recent write-ups.
Compliment or insult...You decide..
JK
This is what Kali has said in Msia Insider :
ReplyDelete"....He feels that the support that he has received in the last few days and reports from the ground confirm what he has suspected - that the "groundswell'' against him was manufactured by senior party leaders."
Dear dear Pak Lah, so many good intentions, all good intentions; it has all come to nought. It is all quite sad. So many years of effort; fruitless.
ReplyDeleteDear dear Pak Lah. He didn't have the strength, he lacked the courage, didn't have the wisdom.
What a waste..........

Gua patut jadi Eighth-floor boys pasal gua ada Blackberry lama dengan OS baru = Gua pandai.
ReplyDeleteRocky thanks for the explaination, but if you are requested by the Prime Minister to revamp the NST, will you take the offer or shall I say the challenge?
ReplyDeleteThanks
I still hope AAB defend his post. I don't want people like Najib (Rosmah) or disasterous Anwar be a Malaysian PM. scary!
ReplyDeleteMr PM has to defend his UMNO post, ironically, in order for a New Government to form, try to read beyond the lines in Kickdefella's "I am No King ... ", maybe, and just maybe, hopefully Mr PM is No King and He is Our Last Pawn.

Rosmah Bakal Perdana Menteri Malaysia? – Bahagian Satu: Belanja Lumayan, Anak Suami Tak Dilayan
Apparently He did Rock ,He Did !
ReplyDeleteNow lets see siapa makan daging, siapa dapat tulang and siapa minum sup ...
Bro,
ReplyDeleteFrom IHT. Quoting source.
"A party official says Malaysia's embattled prime minister will step down in March, four years before his term ends." .
Nothing from our online news yet. :)
Hi Bro Rocky,
ReplyDeleteEven as I send the last posting, the news flash came in courtesy of Berita HArian Online.
Abdullah leaving in March..
God bless.
Council of elders? Meaning Tun still wants to run the show? What the hell, man! Betui cakap Mat Sabu, hang ni Pak Rocky, betui2 naive lah. Tun memang berwawasan, tapi esok lusa Tun dah tak dak, kita nak resurrect dia ka? Boleh? Dah ketandusan modal/pemikir ka kita?
ReplyDeleteCouncil/committee of elders. Hysterically funny. I like the innocent way you sounded so sure and confident. Like it is going to solve all problems within UMNO.
Righ about Mukhriz too. Pot calling the cerek black. Dua kali lima jadi sepuluh. No difference between Khairy Inc and Mukhriz/Mokhzani Inc.
Rocky is TUNSTRUCK, as in "starstruck"!!!
