One year's walk. When the High Court decides on this case of a newspaper suing a blogger on 22 Jan 2008, it would be exactly a year since the unprecedented suit was filed in January this year.
NSTP, with 4 Others, filed a defamation suit against me about the same time. In Jeff Ooi's case, the newspaper obtained an ex-parte injunction to stop the blogger from writing anything about plaintiffs. In my case, though, the plaintiffs failed to get the injunction. NSTP & the Four also failed in its application to cite me for contempt of court recently ["Rocky ambushed ... but survived"].
Jeff and I have survived thus far, thanks to the support of many. I don't know how long this walk is going to be, but it does look like we are Still in preliminaries.

It's gonna be a long walk and more and more of 'em who started walking with you are gonna leave you. Be prepared to face this alone, bro. All I'm saying is, be prepared for the worst. That way it's easier for you to deal with the unexpected. Of course sometimes miracle happens. Otherwise, that's the way things are. You gotta be strong without having to depend on anyone. At the end of the day, this is your fight. They can cheer you on the sideline but this is your fight.
ReplyDeleteJust do what you gotta do.
you have courage that many men only dream about.
ReplyDeleteGod only will know the outcome but always believe, believe that He will not desert you at your time of need.
Your struggle has brought many of us together and in the process, a potluck of some of the greatest minds made their thoughts accessible to all from all walks of life. Thoughts, hope and aspirations convey & exchange through blogs, speeches, events and even a simple Mee Reebus Tuesday meet.
ReplyDeleteInshort you bring out the best in Malaysians. We Walk With Rocky & Jeff.
No matter how long the walk, I will walk with you.
ReplyDeleteJust like the Walk of Justice....

Hi Rock,
ReplyDeleteI ain't no lawyer, but is there anyway your counsel could come up with some ingenious schemes to counter-sue the silly buggers to kingdom come? Like, u know, the silly American buggers do! Claim & counter claim!
Of course, you need fund but does legal aid cover your case? You should find a way to make them sweat too, especially IF you got an impartial judge on your side!
Other than that, that's the Malaysian way, I am afraid. Even the opposition politicians play that same silly bugger game! Goes to show the kiddy-mentality of our politicians, ain't it?. Can't win an argument, sue the hell out of you! It would be funny if you weren't the victim!
It's like playing Hide & Seek, when you couldn't find the Hider, you get angrier & angrier and you throw a tantrum and you shout "I am gonna tell my mum about you!" And that's what they are! Spoiled little brats!
Anyway, good luck! Maybe one day Malaysians will change for the better. I certainly hope so, if we want to get to 2020!
You have my empathy, always!
It ain't over till it's over. i will continue to walk with you.
ReplyDeleteDear Rocky,
ReplyDeleteThe cheers may holler down. The support may whittle away. The backpackers may vanish.
Have courage man.God will be there for you.You spoke the truth about righteousness.
Truth will prevail.

The long walk
ReplyDeleteOne has to go
There is nothing much to do
Let the course of laws take it there
Believing in its fairness
One has at least won the walk
So don’t be afraid when you stand alone
There is Allah always there for His people
I know for a fact
He helps me make it through in life
The power of prayers
It is there for the people
Use it don’t just give it up
It will happen believe me
When every turn makes you cry
Yet The Lord does not abandon you
He is there waiting for your call
So I know the walk
I will walk there with you
When the time comes
There you will see
The light of a new day
just like the up-coming annual International day for Disabled persons, not sure if one should wish you happy 1st anniversary or not. but rest assured brother, unlike everyone else, i'm wheelin' with you spiritually.
ReplyDeleteNo matter how far the distance gonna be, I'll walk with you.
ReplyDeleteThat's for sure bro!
Hi Rocky,
ReplyDeleteLooks like we'll all be walking a long, long way...We better all invest in good walking shoes ;)

have a great weekend !!
Rocky,
ReplyDeleteLets hope the coming GE can change the custodians of this MSM and will lead to a withdrawal of the suit.
Allah Hu Akbar!
Anything can happen and let us pray for His intervention.
Malaysian court is seldom about serving fast judgement. It has become an avenue to torture the innocent but poor with delays and postponements. Best not hope too much for a fast conclusion. The way I see it...the board of directors might not even want any kind of judgement at all. They, too, may be buying time for a guard change in their own rank and file. Cheer up...it will be A Happy New Year Soon. Your case might even be dropped if BN is not returned with a majority. w9
ReplyDeleteI got this from a friend from Australia . Just would like to share with all here. Not meaning to be racist or anything . Just tot that this is how WE ALL MALAYSIANS should feel about OUR COUNTRY . Not being divided like some parties want us to be .
ReplyDeleteAustralia- The Right to Leave
Our Country - YOU Have the right - the right to leave !
After Sydney not wanting to offend other cultures by putting up Xmas lights.
After hearing that the State of South Australia changed its opinion and let a Muslim woman
have her picture on her driver's license with her face covered.
This prompted this editorial written by an Australian citizen. Published in an Australian newspaper.
Quote:
IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It !
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.
However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia .
However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.
This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle.
This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.
We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part
Of our society, Learn the language!
"In God We Trust" is our National Motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you
Consider another part of the world as your new home, Because God is part of our culture.
If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like " A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.
We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, And we really don't care how you did things where you came from.
This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this.
But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our National Motto, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage
You take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,
"THE RIGHT TO LEAVE"
If you aren't happy here then f#@* off! We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted. Pretty easy really, when you think about it.
I figure if we all keep passing this to our friends (and enemies) it will also, sooner or later get back to the complainers, lets all try, please.
No matter how many times you receive it... Please forward it to all you know
